We just completed our very first Digital Edge Infrared/ Long Exposure/ B&W specialty workshop. I know it’s a mouthful. However, the prime emphasis was on infrared. Our small group number of 6 worked out well in the field and in the classroom. All had converted cameras at 590 or 720nm. We did color infrared processing and standard IR processing and critiques in our class periods. May and June are great for puffy clouds and good water flow, which are perfect for infrared photography.

With the growing interest in infrared photography and processing, we will be adding more Digital Edge Infrared/ Long Exposure/ B&W specialty workshops in 2018. Even in our Visual Artistry workshops we will be setting aside extra class time for those interested in infrared photography.

We leave the Smokies tomorrow for home and an unusually high mountain or work. Luckily, things worked out where we will have an extended time at home to take care of business, begin a couple of projects, and to spend a lot of quality time with Akira!
