• Creative Techniques and the Art of Self Expression and featured workshop (Iceland)

We’re proud to announce our latest eBook in our Fine Art Nature Photography series, “Creative Techniques and the Art of Self Expression.”

We’re all trying to stand out in the ever increasing crowd of photographers out there making great images. This 50 page eBook (25 2-page spreads) offers different ways to conceive, visualize, process, and create images that are your own. There is a section of the book that describes everything I use and more importantly, why I use it. Of course, you can email me directly with any questions, comments, and suggestions.

ICELAND – July 22 – 29

Only 2 spaces remaining!

This is our 7th summer in Iceland because we find this to be the biggest bang for your workshop buck. The weather is great, 24-7 shooting time, water flow is excellent and everything is kelly green! The above image of Godafoss was made in July. Iceland has been “discovered” and is now populated with motor coaches with tourists from around the world. But, they all seem to be at the iconic locations, which are great, but there are other, lesser known areas, just as good or better. This is where we go. With Einar, our Focus on Nature partner, we are able to go to places unavailable to many others.

July isn’t far off, please let us know if you’d like to join us on this great trip. Limited space available.

Here’s a small gallery from our recent July workshop. On this trip we visit Flatey Island, which is small, an arctic tern preserve, incredibly peaceful, beautiful and photogenic. Of course, we will follow the light throughout our trip and shoot into the night in order to avoid the crowds, most of which are still on their local time. There is always field instruction and camera help, and whatever else you need in the field and during our critique sessions.

That’s about it for now!

Thanks for taking the time, have a great spring, and we’ll see ya online!
