One of the great little towns in the area of the South Dakota badlands is Scenic, SD. It’s largely abandoned, but there are a few residents, a church, and a post office. And before I go any further, if you fail to get permission to shoot behind the wired off areas, you will be asked to leave, so consider this a word to the wise. That aside…
Sue and I photographed there before the workshop started, then we went back with the workshop group. Scenic is one of several old towns within an hour or so from Wall, SD. This little town has intrigued me for years, so I was really glad to be able to take some serious time to photograph there.
Then, after meeting up and having dinner with the great black and white photographer, Chuck Kimmerle, I kinda got B&W inspired to reinterpret this image set from Scenic, SD. All images shot with the Fuji X Pro 1, processed in LR5 and photoshop.
We have a couple of days to photograph personal work before heading home on Sunday.
Thanks for taking time to view this blog and we’ll see ya online.
